Time for another Orioles Q&A

We haven’t done this since before Thanksgiving, so it’s probably past time for another Orioles question-and-answer session here on the blog.

Time for readers to throw out O’s questions and/or comments - anything on the majors or minors, draft, whatever - and we’ll take shots at providing some answers and responses. As always, readers responding to other readers provide interesting, well, reading.

We can discuss the shape of the roster heading into spring training next month. Where the camp competition will come into play. Which minor league players might impact the 2020 roster. How many games you might predict the team to win. Which players might surprise us in the new season.

The Orioles have recently added right-handed pitcher Kohl Stewart, shortstop José Iglesias and utility infield candidate Richard Ureña, among others. How will this trio fit in when the club reports to Florida?

Means-Throws-Black-KC-Sidebar.jpgStories that could provide more topics of interest and discussion have been posted here recently. They include a discussion on the penalties against the Houston Astros, a blog on trying to predict win-loss records, talk of the O’s recent draft record and a look at the pitch mix heading into the new season for lefty John Means.

It’s been a busy week in baseball, and last night Alex Cora was ousted as manager in Boston. Minutes later came the report that Josh Donaldson would sign with Minnesota. Neither Atlanta nor Washington will get him.

Also yesterday, MLBPipeline.com released its list of the top 10 right-handed pitching prospects in the sport right now. O’s prospect Grayson Rodriguez was rated No. 10. That’s keeping good company.

So, O’s fans, what is on your mind today?
