Who will the Ravens hire as their next quarterbacks coach now that Jim Zorn has been cut loose?
Well, it looks like they won't be hiring anyone. A good portion of the QB coach's duties will apparently fall to offensive coordinator Cam Cameron.
Head coach John Harbaugh said in a statement that Cameron, who came under fire because of the Ravens' offensive struggles this season, will have more of a hands-on approach in regards to the quarterbacks this upcoming season.
"We've talked about this since the end of the season, and we believe this will help improve our offense," Harbaugh said.
"Cam is noted for his development of quarterbacks and that includes Joe Flacco and Pro Bowl players like Drew Brees and Philip Rivers. Cam is excited about this change and is looking forward to it."
Offensive assistant Craig Ver Steeg will also help out with the Ravens' quarterbacks.
A portion of Ravens' fan base pushed for the team to go in another direction with their offensive coordinator job this offseason. Not only will the Ravens be sticking with Cameron, but they'll be giving him some more rope to work with.
Cameron was successful helping Brees lose the "too small for the NFL" label and was by Rivers' side when he led the Chargers to a 14-2 record in his first season as a starter.
The Ravens hope he do the same with Flacco by working a little closer with the their young QB.
