Detwiler adjusts mechanics to relieve hip

Ross Detwiler made his first appearance in the Major Leagues since last October, on Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers. He had been recovering from his February hip surgery.

Detwiler has been rehabbing in the minors and earned his way back to the Nationals’ rotation. He said that his new mechanics have put less stress on his hip.

Detwiler credits pitching coach Steve McCatty for finding the flaw in his delivery that caused his injury.
