I first want to congratulate Robert Griffin III, Trent Williams and Lorenzo Alexander for their selection to the Pro Bowl. I'm not a fan of the actual game, but I do understand how being selected to the game can legitimize a player's season. RGIII's resume speaks for itself on why he should be going, but the selection of the other two brings with it tremendous ... read more

'Twas a few days before Christmas and what do we see? A Washington Redskins football team controlling it's own destiny. A month ago, with a 3-6 record, who would have thought that this group (that was going under evaluation by the head coach) would not only be in position to get into the postseason, but host a playoff game. That is where they are. Win ... read more

In the last six days, the Redskins have knocked off the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants and arguably one of the best teams that the American Football Conference has to offer in the Baltimore Ravens. That is now four wins at FedEx Field, which far surpasses that foolishness of last season when the Redskins won just one game at home. This wild ride ... read more

I can't believe it has been five years since the death of Redskins safety Sean Taylor. I never was more intrigued by an athlete in my entire career - the violence and the passion with which he played the game, and then the shyness and introverted way he carried himself off the field. Taylor rarely spoke with the media, but I considered it an honor ... read more

When I first got to Washington, D.C., in 2002, the sports landscape was pretty barren. There was no baseball. The Capitals were in the beginning stages of a rebuild due largely in part to the underachievement of Jaromir Jagr. The Wizards had some guy wearing a No. 23 jersey, but it wasn't really Michael Jordan and the kid he drafted No. 1 overall in Kwame ... read more

The Redskins lost to the Carolina Panthers on a day when the building was abuzz with dozens of alumni who were in town for homecoming weekend. Robert Griffin III's 74.2 quarterback rating was one of his lowest to date. The 13 penalties for 97 yards was appalling. The underutilization of Alfred Morris and the running game was perplexing. The second game with no takeaways after ... read more

It is the halfway point of the 2012 season and, for the fifth time in 10 years, the Redskins are 3-5. I'm not surprised, but I was hoping that they would keep it even through eight games. The bad news for Redskins fans is that a new, exciting, game-changing quarterback can't also play defense, he can't catch the football as well as throw it, and ... read more

Back in September, when the Redskins lost to the St. Louis Rams, I mentioned that the title of "The good, the bad and the ugly" would play out multiple times this season - and it did so again against the Giants on Sunday. When the Redskins' first drive consumed 17 plays over nine minutes with everything thrown in, I was saying to myself how good ... read more
