The Orioles have scheduled a variety of giveaways and promotions designed to appeal to fans of all ages during the upcoming season. Highlights of this year’s giveaway schedule include a MATT WIETERS bobblehead doll giveaway presented by AT&T, a replica BROOKS ROBINSON jersey, a series of three mini-bobblehead dolls featuring outfielders NOLAN REIMOLD, ADAM JONES and NICK MARKAKIS, four cap giveaway nights and the return of T-Shirt Tuesdays. The Orioles will also bring back the popular Birdland Stimulus Package, which includes special ticket offers on three nights each week when the club is at home--Bargain Nights on Tuesdays, Kids Nights on Thursdays and Student Nights on Fridays--as well as several other cost- saving programs.
Four giveaway nights feature an annual favorite, bobblehead dolls, including a series of three mini-bobbleheads featuring the Orioles’ talented young outfield trio. The first 15,000 fans 15 and over will receive a Nolan Reimold mini-bobblehead doll on Wednesday, May 26 before the game against the Oakland Athletics. The first 15,000 fans 15 and over will receive an Adam Jones mini-bobblehead doll on Thursday, June 24 before the game against the Florida Marlins. And on Thursday, August 5, the first 15,000 fans 15 and over will receive a Nick Markakis mini-bobblehead doll. Another popular young Orioles player, Matt Wieters, will be immortalized in a bobblehead doll giveaway presented by AT&T for the first 25,000 fans 15 and over on Wednesday, June 30 prior to the game against the Oakland Athletics.
The Orioles will honor the 40th anniversary of the 1970 World Champions with a variety of events and giveaways this season. On Saturday, June 27, before the game against the Washington Nationals, the Orioles will have an on-field celebration featuring numerous members of the ‘70 World Series Champs. The following day, the first 20,000 fans 15 and over will receive a 1970 O’s 40th Anniversary Cap. Finally, a Hall of Fame Oriole and member of the 1970 Orioles’ World Championship team, Brooks Robinson, will be featured in a giveaway on Saturday, July 17. The first 25,000 fans 21 and over will receive a Robinson replica jersey, presented by RealStreet Staffing, prior to the game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
T-Shirt Tuesdays will return each month of the season in 2010. The first 10,000 fans 15 and over attending the game against the Tampa Bay Rays on April 13 will receive a t-shirt featuring an Orioles player, and other T-Shirt Tuesdays are scheduled for May 11, June 22, July 20, August 3 and September 14.
The Orioles have also scheduled four cap giveaways this year. In addition to the 1970 40th Anniversary cap, the first 25,000 fans 21 and over will receive an Orioles Floppy Hat, courtesy of Miller Lite, before their Friday, June 11 game against the New York Mets. The first 20,000 fans 15 and over will receive a Draft Day O’s Ravens Rally Cap, presented by MASN, on Saturday, June 12. And on Sunday, June 13, the popular Orioles Floppy Hat will be available to kids for the first time, as the first 10,000 fans 14 and under will receive an Orioles Kids Floppy Hat before the game against the New York Mets.
In addition to the Kids Floppy Hat on June 13, the Orioles have created numerous other promotions designed specifically for younger fans, including special days for Little Leagues (Sunday, May 2 and Sunday, May 16) and Youth Sports (Sunday, September 19), Day Camps (Wednesday, July 21), and Boy and Girl Scouts (Saturday, May 15). A popular attraction for school groups over the last two years, Field Trip Day presented by MASN & WJZ returns for pre-registered school groups on Thursday, May 13, and Sunday, June 27 features a post-game Kids Run the Bases for all kids 14 and under. Additional giveaways for young fans include a Kids Batting Helmet for the first 10,000 fans 14 and under on Sunday, July 18 and a Matt Wieters Kids Chest Protector Backpack giveaway for the first 10,000 fans 14 and under on Saturday, August 7.
Other giveaways and promotions scheduled for the upcoming season include a 2010 Magnet Schedule and car magnet for all fans at the team’s home opener on Friday, April 9 and an O’s Plush Cow giveaway, courtesy of Chick-fil-A, for the first 10,000 fans on Sunday, April 11.
Established mid-year in 2009 in recognition of outfielders Adam Jones and Nick Markakis, the popular 2110 Eutaw Street promotion, presented by Home Savings of America, returns for five dates in 2010 - May 16, June 27, July 24, August 8 and September 4.
A popular attraction for the whole family, post-game fireworks return on five Friday nights this season - May 14, June 25, July 16, August 6 and September 17. Fireworks will begin shortly after the completion of the 7:05 p.m. games.
The club’s annual Fan Appreciation Weekend is scheduled for the final home series of the season, September 30-October 3 against the Detroit Tigers.
