Today’s Nats lineup plus Ankiel note (updated)

VIERA, Fla. - The Nationals take on the Tigers today at Space Coast Stadium, with Edwin Jackson heading to the bump for the Nats.

Bryce Harper is back in right field today, while Jayson Werth slides over to center.

Here’s manager Davey Johnson’s lineup for today’s game:

SS Ian Desmond
2B Danny Espinosa
3B Ryan Zimmerman
CF Jayson Werth
DH Chad Tracy
C Jesus Flores
RF Bryce Harper
1B Tyler Moore
LF Roger Bernadina

Here’s a good sign for outfielder Rick Ankiel, who’s been battling a hamstring injury: He’s highlighted on the Nats’ travel roster for Tuesday’s game at Port St. Lucie.

Players whose names are highlighted on the travel roster are scheduled to travel with the team. This obviously indicates Ankiel might be closing in on returning to action.

Update: Meeting with reporters before today’s game, Johnson said that Ankiel went through a full workout without incident yesterday, and he appears on track to play on Tuesday at the Mets.

Ankiel will benefit from a day off today as well as the Nats’ team off-day tomorrow.
