Haloti Ngata, Marlon Brown inactive against Bears

The Ravens will be at a bit of a disadvantage this afternoon, as they’ll be without their most disruptive force on the defensive line.

Nose tackle Haloti Ngata is out today because of a knee injury he suffered last Sunday. He was able to return to the field after missing a few series against the Bengals, but he sat out practice all week and was listed as questionable for today’s game.

And now, he’ll be sidelined for the first time this season after starting Baltimore’s first nine games. He missed one game last season, but hadn’t sat out since 2009 before that.

The Ravens will also be without rookie wideout Marlon Brown, who did not practice Friday and was listed as questionable with a knee injury. Brown leads leads Baltimore with five touchdown catches. This will be his second missed game of the year.

The beneficiary is cornerback Asa Jackson, who is active for the first time this year after being suspended eight games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Safety Omar Brown, tailback Bernard Scott, wideout Brandon Stokley, center Ryan Jensen and linebacker John Simon are also inactive for the Ravens.
