Suggs, Ngata will play; David Reed inactive yet again

While four Ravens defensive starters listed as questionable - notably linebacker Terrell Suggs and tackle Haloti Ngata - will play today against the Chiefs, wide receiver/kickoff returner David Reed is inactive for the third straight week because of injury.

Reed, who led the NFL in kickoff return average this season, has been battling a wrist injury the last few weeks. While he had full practices every day this week and suited up with a protective brace on the wrist, he admitted that he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to return kicks with the brace.

Jalen Parmele will likely handle the kickoff returns again today in Reed’s absence.

Two other Ravens battling injuries - safety Tom Zbikowski (back) and linebacker Tavares Gooden (shoulder) - will not suit up today. Both guys were limited in practice this week, and were not deemed healthy enough to play against the Chiefs.

Meanwhile, as expected, safety Ed Reed, Suggs, Ngata and cornerback Josh Wilson are all active and will play today.

The Ravens’ inactives are wide receiver/kick returner David Reed, Zbikowski, fullback Jason McKie, Gooden, tight ends Davon Drew and Dennis Pitta, and defensive tackles Art Jones and Lamar Divens.

For Kansas City, veteran wide receiver Chris Chambers is surprisingly inactive today. Chambers was the Chiefs’ fourth-leading receiver on the season. Wideout Kevin Curtis, who Kansas City just signed this week, is active and will play.

The Chiefs’ inactives are third quarterback Tyler Palko, wide receiver Quinten Lawrence, fullback Mike Cox, defensive back Reshard Langford, linebacker Charlie Anderson, center Rudy Niswanger, Chambers and defensive tackle Anthony Toribio.
