Ray Lewis on playing in 2011: "No ifs ands or buts about it"

Recently, The Baltimore Sun reported that there had been "a lot of rumors swirling" about the Ravens buying out Ray Lewis' contract.

I personally didn't hear any of those rumors. Apparently, Lewis didn't, either.

Making an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show today, the Ravens linebacker sounded shocked when Patrick asked him about the report that he might accept a financial package from the team.

"I've never heard that in my life," Lewis said. "We can not listen to what everybody writes. We know this. No way."

When the Ravens cleaned out their lockers two days after their season-ending loss to the Steelers last month, Lewis shot down questions that he would consider retiring.

He stuck with that message today, saying he definitely plans to return for the 2011 season.

"No ifs ands or buts about it," Lewis said. "Absolutely. (We have) unfinished business."

Lewis played all but five snaps during the 2010 season. There wasn't much reason to believe he wouldn't return for his 16th NFL season, but today's interview leaves no doubt.

Ray will be back.
