Count offensive coordinator Cam Cameron among those who aren’t worried about the severity of Lee Evans’ injury.
Evans had his left foot in a boot during Saturday’s practice and the wide receiver has missed the Ravens’ last two practices, but Cameron said he expects Evans to return to the field sometime soon.
“Sure, absolutely,” Cameron said. “He’s in meetings, he’s bouncing around pretty good. I don’t know an exact timetable, but yeah we would like to think he’s going to be back pretty quick.”
The veteran wideout has been a bright spot on the Ravens’ offense through his two preseason games in Baltimore, making six grabs for a team-high 128 yards and a touchdown.
The Ravens will almost certainly hold him out of Thursday’s preseason finale against the Falcons (that is, if they weren’t going to, already), but it doesn’t appear that his status is in question for the regular season opener against Pittsburgh on Sept. 11.
