Eight Ravens miss Wednesday's practice

The Ravens were missing a host of players during today's practice, including four starters.

Center Matt Birk (knee), wide receiver Lee Evans (ankle), left guard Ben Grubbs (toe) and defensive end Cory Redding (toe) were the starters to miss today's practice, while linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (thigh), safety Haruki Nakamura (knee), wide receiver David Reed (shoulder) and cornerback Jimmy Smith (ankle) also did not participate.

Among those eight, only Evans, Grubbs and Ellerbe are considered legitimate question marks for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Nakamura, Reed and Smith will sit this one out, while Birk and Redding have been getting a day off here and there to rest nagging injuries, but are expected to play Sunday.

For the Jets, wide receiver Logan Payne (wrist) has already been ruled out.

Cornerback Antonio Cromartie (ribs) and guard Nick Mangold (ankle) did not practice today, while linebacker David Harris (toe) and defensive lineman Muhammed Wilkerson (shoulder) were limited. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes (shoulder) and defensive lineman Mike DeVito (shoulder) both had a full practice for New York.
