A few more notes

The game notes list Jeremy Guthrie, Matt Albers, Will Ohman, Dennis Sarfate, Cla Meredith, David Hernandez and Alberto Castillo as available pitchers.

Brian Matusz starts tomorrow against the Rays in Port Charlotte, with Koji Uehara and Mark Hendrickson also scheduled to pitch. I’m sure more names will be added to the list. Tampa Bay will start Jeff Niemann.

The Orioles get Pittsburgh’s Zach Duke on Friday, Detroit’s Justin Verlander on Saturday and Boston’s Clay Buchholz on Sunday.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Orioles waited until Saturday to include Nolan Reimold in the lineup. Friday’s game is being played at night, with temperatures expected in the 40s.

Brad Bergesen is the only pitcher without a set date to pitch. The rest are “100 percent ready to go,” manager Dave Trembley said.

The press box is packed. It’s smaller than the Fort Lauderdale version, but much sturdier. It doesn’t shake every time somebody sneezes. And we can close the glass windows on windy days.

The crowd looks pretty impressive, though my view of the stands is mostly blocked. Fans are still filling into the ballpark, and the sun is peeking through the clouds again.

The Orioles are wearing their home whites. Miguel Tejada is playing catch with Cesar Izturis in front of the dugout. Adam Jones is doing the same with Nick Markakis.
