Before the lineup’s posted (it is now)

Players aren’t required to report to the ballpark today until noon. I saw Matt Wieters and Cesar Izturis eating breakfast with third base coach Gary Allenson.

It’s a little slow around here.

I forgot to mention last night that Adam Jones won’t start today. Manager Buck Showalter wants to rest him for a few days, including tomorrow, when we have an open date on the schedule before the six-game road trip that begins Tuesday in Chicago and continues into Anaheim.

Jones is 0-for-16 since his 3-for-5 game against the Mariners.

“He’s been a rock. He’s a post-up guy,” Showalter said after yesterday’s game. “He doesn’t know it yet, but he will.”

Corey Patterson will start today, perhaps in left field, with Felix Pie shifting to center.

Here’s the Orioles lineup, which includes the above-mentioned alignment:
Brian Roberts 2B
Nick Markakis RF
Ty Wigginton 1B
Luke Scott DH
Corey Patterson LF
Felix Pie CF
Matt Wieters C
Cesar Izturis SS
Josh Bell 3B

Kevin Millwood RHP

Here’s the Rangers lineup:
Andrus SS
Young 3B
Hamilton LF
Guerrero DH
Murphy RF
Moreland 1B
Teagarden C
Blanco 2B
Borbon CF

Hunter RHP
