Adam Jones will have an MRI on his right thumb tomorrow after being scratched from the lineup again.
An X-ray taken earlier in the week didn’t reveal any structural damage, but continuing soreness in the thumb led the Orioles to schedule the MRI.
A hand specialist examined Jones’ thumb earlier today, and his report was “consistent with what the X-rays said,” according to manager Buck Showalter.
Jones hasn’t started the last six games. He was used as a pinch-runner Tuesday and a defensive replacement Wednesday.
