Unfortunately, the forecast is equally bad Wednesday night, which could force a doubleheader on Thursday.
We're assuming that Chris Tillman will start Wednesday, weather permitting, with Bud Norris pushed back to Thursday.
Third baseman Manny Machado will be activated from the disabled list on Wednesday if the Orioles are able to play. However, left-hander Troy Patton's 25-game suspension won't end until Thursday.
The Orioles want to re-sign Steve Pearce, but he would be eligible to play for them right away only if the roster remains at 24 players. Machado would be the 25th. Therefore, the Orioles must reach agreement with Pearce before Machado is activated.
Patton thew a scoreless inning today for Triple-A Norfolk in Game 1 of a doubleheader.
