Orioles lineup vs. Phillies

Trey Mancini’s absence from the Orioles lineup lasted one game. He’s starting at first base for tonight’s makeup game against the Phillies.

Chris Davis is the designated hitter and Mark Trumbo is in right field.

Jace Peterson’s knee must be feeling better because he’s in left field. Adam Jones is batting cleanup, with Jonathan Schoop moving up to second in the order.

Nick Pivetta made his only career start against the Orioles on May 16 at Camden Yards and held them to one run and two hits with 11 strikeouts over seven innings. Jones hit a home run.

On this date in 1966, Brooks Robinson was named Most Valuable Player of the All-Star Game in St. Louis after collecting three hits, including a triple, and scoring the only run for the American League in a 2-1, 10-inning loss. He also had eight assists at third base.

Also on this date in 1993, Seattle’s Ken Griffey Jr. became the first and only player to hit the warehouse on the fly during the Home Run Derby. The ball traveled an estimated 465 feet and a brass medallion marks the spot.
