After the 15-run first inning.....(update, Keys lead)

This game has settled down.

We have seen just one run scored since that explosion.

So, Frederick and Potomac are tied 8-8 and we’ve now played four innings at Harry Grove Stadium.

Here is the recap from the wacky 44-minute first inning.

Lefty Cole McCurry, who replaced Keys starter Oliver Drake in the first, has pitched well. He has given up just one hit and no runs over 3 1/3 innings.

Righty Pat Lehman came on for Potomac to start the second after starter Danny Rosenbaum was charged with four hits and seven runs in that opening frame. He just struck out the side in the last of the fourth.

Billy Rowell and Brian Ward are 2 for 2 for the Keys and Ward had that Grand Slam in the last of the first.

Update: Pedro Florimon’s RBI single in the last of the 5th has given Frederick a 9-8 lead. Miguel Abreu led off the inning with a single and went to second on an error and third on a groundout. With the infield in, Florimon punched a single through the right side. After trailing 8-0 after a half inning, Frederick is leading for the first time at 9-8.
