Remaking the Nationals’ rotation - again

There’s a high probability the Nationals’ rotation won’t look the same at the end of this week as it does now. Stephen Strasburg presumably had an MRI on his right forearm yesterday, and the Nationals will announce the results, as well as their plan for the pitcher, later today.

Jordan Zimmermann looks ready to be in the majors after five shutout innings on Friday, and if Strasburg is somehow permitted to make his Thursday start, the Nationals would need a place for Zimmermann.

And then there’s Yunesky Maya, who got hit around at Single-A Potomacyesterday. He’ll have another start in the minors before the Nationals think about bringing him to the majors, but eventually, he’ll take a spot, too.

There are lots of opinions about where to go with this, so let’s discuss it this way: You may pick five starters from the following group:

-Stephen Strasburg
-Scott Olsen
-Livan Hernandez
-John Lannan
-Jason Marquis
-Jordan Zimmermann
-Yunesky Maya

Which five would you put in the rotation right now? And what did you think of the idea of “piggybacking” one starter on another in the same game, as general manager Mike Rizzo suggested on Friday? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
