Nationals have a run, but no hits against Phillies

The Nationals and Phillies are tied at one in the fourth inning, though the Nationals don’t have a hit yet.

Nyjer Morgan has walked twice in two at-bats, and scored the team’s only run in the first inning after he stole second and advanced to third on Greg Dobbs’ throwing error during a rundown. He scored on Adam Dunn’s groundout in the first inning.

But Raul Ibanez, who has killed the Nationals like few other players the last two years, homered to right center a few minutes ago off Jason Marquis. It was his 12th homer against the Nationals in 2009 and 2010, though only four of those homers have come this year.

Marquis is struggling here in the fourth, having given up three hits after allowing only one in the first three innings. He’s thrown just 57 pitches so far, and has a chance to go deep in this game if he can put things back together here in the fourth inning.

It’s 1-1, but the Phillies have a pair of runners on base.
