Wednesday’s Nationals-Mets discussion space

Welcome to MASN’s discussion space for today’s Nationals-Mets game at Nationals Park. I’ll have updates and analysis throughout the day, and if you’d like to participate, leave your thoughts in the comments section. We’ll probably open up a live chat in the middle innings. I’ll also be tweeting updates throughout the day. You can follow me at @masnBen.

12:53: We’ve played 1 1/2 here at Nationals Park, and Livan Hernandez has allowed one hit. Nothing doing for the Nationals in the top of the first against knuckleballer R.A. Dickey.

1:11: The Mets, for the third time in this series, have scored first. They took a 1-0 lead in the third on Luis Hernandez’s double to center - which came after Dickey singled off Livan Hernandez and Angel Pagan followed with a single. It took a funny hop on Nyjer Morgan, and he bobbled it as Dickey scored. Pagan also scored on Carlos Beltran’s sac fly, and it’s 2-0 Mets.

1:22: Wilson Ramos gets his first hit at Nationals Park, doubling to center in the third, but the Nationals stranded him at third. 2-0 Mets heading into the fourth.

1:33: The Nationals still have nothing going against Dickey; they went down in order in the fourth. Ramos’ hit is the only productive at-bat the Nationals have, and Dickey, who has faced one more than the minimum, has thrown 50 pitches through four innings.

1:47: The Nationals finally break through against Dickey, and again, it’s Ramos doing the damage. He hit his first big-league homer off Dickey, blasting a two-run shot to center that tied the game.

1:55: We’re going to open up a live chat for the rest of the game, so if you want to talk about the game or the Nationals in general, pop into this window below:
