Brewers-Nationals postponed, will play straight doubleheader Sunday

The Nationals’ 1:05 p.m. game with the Brewers today has been postponed because of rain, the team has announced. The teams will play a straight doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 1:35 p.m.

If you had a ticket for tomorrow’s game, you can simply present that ticket and be given your seat for tomorrow’s game. If you had a ticket for today’s game, you can exchange for a ticket of equal value for tomorrow’s game, or a future game this season. Because the second game will start approximately 30 minutes after the first game, one ticket is good for both games.

Both teams will use their Saturday starters in the first game tomorrow; Jason Marquis will face Yovani Gallardo. In the second game, the original Sunday starters will pitch (Livan Hernandez for the Nationals and Marco Estrada for the Brewers).

Because the Nationals have an off-day on Monday, the doubleheader won’t affect their pitching rotation. As things were scheduled, Marquis would have pitched on an extra day’s rest, but now, all of their starters will simply go on normal rest.
