No Nationals in serious All-Star vote contention

Major League Baseball released its first round of balloting results for the 2011 All-Star Game, and no Nationals position players are in the top five at any position (or in the case of outfielders, in the top 15).

Given the fact the Nationals have one player hitting over .300 (Laynce Nix) - and he’s not on the ballot - it’s hard to argue with the results so far.

The All-Star teams will be announced July 3. The game is July 12 in Phoenix.
