Nationals beat Braves 5-3

After ending a six-game losing streak on Friday night with a win over the Mets, the Nationals have quickly started a small winning streak.

They beat the Braves 5-3 on Monday to get their third straight win and pull back within four games of the .500 mark. Livan Hernandez pitched six innings for his first win since June 26, and Rick Ankiel had the fifth multi-homer game of his career.

Drew Storen gave up a homer for the second straight day, but unlike Sunday, when he blew a save, the solo shot against Dan Uggla didn’t hurt him; he finished the rest of the inning without another run, earning his 27th save of the season.

More from the clubhouse in a little bit.
