Sounds like the Miguel Batista-Miss Iowa kerfuffle will get some more attention tomorrow night.
Katherine Connors, the reigning Miss Iowa, tweeted this afternoon that she'll throw out the first pitch at Nationals Park on Friday night against the Phillies. The Des Moines Register also published a story saying the 20-year-old, who's been on an interview whirlwind ever since Batista jokingly compared himself to her on Tuesday night, would throw the first pitch.
After filling in for Stephen Strasburg and throwing five shutout innings on Tuesday, Batista said, "Imagine if you go to see Miss Universe, then you end up having Miss Iowa, you might get those kind of boos."
The comment started a good-natured back-and-forth between Batista and Connors, who wondered aloud in a statement if Batista could walk the runway in a swimsuit. He was also invited to judge the Miss Iowa USA pageant in October.
