The Nationals officially appear to be back on a hot streak. It's easy to tell, because it's not often that their offense is this good.
They beat up on the Braves for nine runs, 14 hits and three homers - including a Rick Ankiel grand slam - in a 9-3 victory on Tuesday night that gave them their fourth straight win and guaranteed a series win over Atlanta.
The Nationals moved back within three games of .500, and could finish their nine-game homestand with a winning record if they sweep the Braves tomorrow.
Ankiel's grand slam in the fourth inning highlighted a five-run inning that erased a 3-1 deficit. Ian Desmond homered in the fifth, and Michael Morse added another homer in the sixth. John Lannan got his eighth win of the season, and his eighth career victory over the Braves. He doesn't have more than four against any other team.
More from the clubhouse in a little bit.
