Stephen Strasburg will make the fifth start of his rehab assignment from Tommy John surgery on Saturday at Triple-A Syracuse, manager Davey Johnson said.
Strasburg, who struck out six batters in three innings on Monday night at Single-A Hagerstown, will likely make one more rehab start after this one, possibly also at Syracuse, before returning to the major leagues.
He has said he's ready to face more experienced hitters after three starts at the Single-A level, where hitters are more likely to be overanxious and swing early in counts. Against better hitters, Strasburg can work on his approach and use his off-speed pitches more often.
