The contingent of Nationals players - Michael Morse, Collin Balester, Ross Detwiler and Chien-Ming Wang - who went to Taiwan as part of Major League Baseball's 2011 Taiwan All-Star Series have returned home. And by all accounts, they had a memorable experience.
Balester just tweeted this video of Taiwanese fans outside the team's bus, with the caption, "This is how many fans were by our bus after every game. It's unreal fans LOVE baseball in Taiwan." And Wang, of course, was the star of the show as the hero returning home to his native country.
MLB.com had a reporter with the team in Taiwan, and published a retrospective of the trip here. Morse drove in two runs on Friday, keying the All-Stars' victory over the Chinese Taipei National Team. The major leaguers swept the five-game series with Chinese Taipei.
