While I am certainly surprised that only one team put in a claim for Randy Moss in the waiver process, I think it's a good fit, and I think Moss will help the Titans in a playoff run.
First, Kenny Britt is down for two months, so the team certainly needs a big play replacement, and I doubt that Nate Washington and Justin Gage can handle the load.
The Titans are a run first offense with Chris Johnson. They rank 24th in the league in passing at just under 188 passing yards per game and 30th in the league in pass attempts per game. They just don't allow Vince Young to throw a lot and hurt them; but Moss, if his head and heart are into it, will provide an outlet for Young to go downfield.
Is he as good as Kenny Britt? Probably not, but he still is a top 15 receiver.
And lastly, Jeff Fisher has been with the team for 16 years. There is no mistake it's his team and he won't have to try and win Moss over.
Moss wants a new deal and one last payday, so he needs to show the league he still cares and can play. He needs to show that he cares because if he blows this one, I can't see why a team would give him a 3 or 4 year deal next year.
If Moss wants a ring he has an opportunity to get it this year, and I think the Titans will go to the playoffs riding his skills.
