Reports: Nats deal Detwiler to Rangers (update)
Ross Detwiler lost his spot in the Nationals rotation before last season and now he's moving on.
The Nats have traded the 28-year-old left-hander to the Texas Rangers for two minor leaguers, according to Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan. In return for Detwiler, Washington will reportedly receive an infielder and a reliever.

Detwiler was selected by the Nats in the first round of the 2007 draft and had spent his entire career with the club. In seven seasons, he went 20-32 with a 3.82 ERA in 132 appearances (69 starts).
His best season came in 2012 when he went 10-8 with a 3.40 ERA in 33 games (27 starts), helping the Nats win the National League East crown. But Detwiler missed most of 2013 with an oblique injury and a pinched nerve, and was unable to win a starting job out of spring training this year.
Pitching mostly in low-leverage situations out of the bullpen in 2014, he went 2-3 with a 4.00 ERA in 47 relief appearances.
Now he moves on to a new organization where he'll get a new opportunity to prove himself.
Update: The Nationals will receive minor leaguers Chris Bostick and Abel de Los Santos from the Rangers, according to USA Today's Scott Boeck.
Bostick is a 21-year-old middle infielder who was originally drafted by the A's in the 44th round in 2011. He was acquired by Texas in last year's Craig Gentry trade. Bostick posted a .251/.322/.412 slash line with 11 homers, 62 RBIs and 24 steals in 130 games with high Single-A Myrtle Beach last season. He has played 305 of his 332 minor league games at second base.
De Los Santos is a 22-year-old right-hander who split last season between Single-A Hickory and Myrtle Beach. The 6-foot-2 reliever went 5-3 with a 1.92 ERA in 41 appearances. He struck out 65 and walked 18 in 56 1/3 innings while posting a 0.959 WHIP.
