Orioles announce "Countdown to Opening Day" events throughout Birdland

The Orioles today announced plans for a series of “Countdown to Opening Day” events leading up to Major League Baseball’s Opening Day on Thursday, March 28, when the Orioles host the Los Angeles Angels at 3:05 p.m. ET.

Beginning Saturday, March 16, and leading up to Opening Day, fans will have the opportunity to meet the Oriole Bird and Mr. Splash, attend a Spring Training watch party with Orioles Alumni, and visit Oriole Park at Camden Yards to watch an open workout and hear from 2023 American League Manager of the Year BRANDON HYDE and 2023 MLB Executive of the Year MIKE ELIAS

SATURDAY, MARCH 16 – PROSPECTIVE BIRDLAND MEMBERS DAY

Fans interested in purchasing a Birdland Membership or suite package are invited to RSVP to visit Oriole Park to discuss membership options for the 2024 season. Those who purchase a membership or suite package will have the opportunity to go on the field and visit the Orioles clubhouse. The event will take place rain or shine.

  • When: Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Where: Oriole Park at Camden Yards
  • Admission: Fans must RSVP at Orioles.com/OpeningDay by Friday, March 15 at 12 p.m. to attend. Entry details will be provided directly to fans who RSVP.

THURSDAY, MARCH 21 – ORIOLE BIRD AND MR. SPLASH MEET AND GREET

Fans are invited to meet the Oriole Bird and Mr. Splash at Bel Air Sports Cards, the Home of the Card Bar, where they will guest card-tend and take photos with fans.

  • When: Thursday, March 21 from 6-8 p.m.
  • Where: Bel Air Sports Cards (1401 Conowingo Rd., Bel Air, MD 21014)
  • Admission: No ticket required, open to fans of all ages.

SATURDAY, MARCH 23 – SPRING TRAINING WATCH PARTY

Fans are invited to join former Orioles All-Star and current MASN broadcaster BRAD BRACH, as well as the Oriole Bird and Mr. Splash, to cheer on the O’s and watch as they take on the Toronto Blue Jays at 6:05 p.m. Those in attendance can take home Orioles giveaways, play baseball BINGO, and soak Mr. Splash for every O’s extra-base hit.  

  • When: Saturday, March 23 from 5:30 p.m. until the end of the game
  • Where: Checkerspot Brewing Company (1421 Ridgely St., Baltimore, MD 21230)
  • Parking: Available in Lot O, along with limited street parking
  • Admission: No ticket required, open to fans of all ages. Fans must be 21+ to purchase and consume alcohol.

TUESDAY, MARCH 26 – OPENING DAY WORKOUT AND RALLY

Fans are invited to attend an Opening Day workout and rally at Oriole Park. Those in attendance will have an exclusive opportunity to see the 2024 Orioles before they take the field on Opening Day, as well as hear from Orioles Executive Vice President and General Manager MIKE ELIAS and Manager BRANDON HYDE. Ballpark fare will be available at select concession locations and merchandise will be available for purchase at team store locations along the first and third base sides of the concourse. The main Orioles Team Store will also be open and accessible to fans via the Camden St. entrance. Free parking will be available in Lot A. Fans should enter through Gate D. All Oriole Park game day policies will be in effect. The event is weather dependent and subject to change.

  • When: Tuesday, March 26
  • Timing: Gates will open to fans at 6 p.m., followed by the Q&A at 6:30 p.m., and workout at 7 p.m.
  • Where: Oriole Park at Camden Yards
  • Admission: Fans must claim a free ticket at Orioles.com/OpeningDay to attend. Children under 18 do not need a ticket but must attend with an adult.
  • Parking: Free parking will be available in Lot A. Fans must enter the ballpark through Gate D.
