TAMPA, Fla. - Kevin Frandsen is starting at his third different positionin as many games, playing third base this afternoon for the Nationals. Frandsen played second base in the exhibition opener and left field on Friday against the Braves.
Nothing new for the versatile Frandsen, who appeared in 105 games for the Nationals last year at four different positions while hitting .259 with one home run and 17 RBIs. Frandsen started 12 games at third base last season and has played 124 games at the position in his seven seasons in the majors.
Tyler Moore will try to keep his hot bat going, starting in left field today. Moore is 4-for-5 with a home run, a triple, two doubles and six RBIs early in this Grapefruit League season.
Speaking of third base, that's where Alex Rodriguex will start for the Yankees today for the first time this spring. Rodriguez, who is returning from a year-long suspension for his role in the Biogenesis scandal, has appeared as the Yankees designated hitter in his first two exhibition games.
