The injury bug has struck the Nationals again. The Nationals have placed outfielder Scott Hairston on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain and recalled infielder/outfielder Tyler Moore. The Hairston injury comes one day after third baseman Ryan Zimmerman was removed after the fifth inning with right shoulder soreness. Zimmerman will not play today as he is awaiting an evaluation of his shoulder. In addition to Zimmerman not playing, manager Matt Williams is also giving outfielders Bryce Harper and Denard Span the day off because the Braves are starting left-hander Alex Wood.
