Turner is a top prospect as the No. 13 overall selection in the 2014 draft. So much so that if he was a member of the Nationals right now, Baseball America would rate him as their No. 2 overall prospect. Turner hit .323 in 69 games last season with two teams in the Padres system. He had 16 doubles, two triples, four homers, 23 stolen bases and 24 RBIs. He also had a .406 on-base percentage and adds big-time depth to the shortstop position for the Nationals. Major League Baseball Rule 3(B)(6) states that a player who was drafted cannot officially be traded and assigned to a new club until a year after signing. Turner is eligible to be dealt to the Nationals officially on June 13.
