Updating Tillman, Markakis and Chavez

Chris Tillman made his first start today since the Orioles optioned him to Double-A Bowie. It also will be his last start before he rejoins them in Baltimore. Nick Markakis, batting second and serving as the designated hitter, went 0-for-3 with a walk and strikeout before being removed for a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning. He's 3-for-10 with a double, two homers, four RBIs and four runs scored in three games with Bowie. The Orioles could activate Markakis from the disabled list on Friday. Endy Chavez started his injury-rehab assignment today with the Gulf Coast League Orioles. Batting leadoff and playing left field, he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Josh Hader, the Orioles' 19th-round pick in the First-Year Player Draft out of Old Mill High School, threw two scoreless innings today and struck out four. He hasn't allowed a run or walked a batter in three appearances with the GCL team. He's struck out nine batters in 4 2/3 innings.
