Chen didn’t receive a decision in his only career start against the Angels on April 22, despite allowing only one run in 6 1/3 innings. It was his first career quality start in the majors.

The Orioles are 13-8 against left-handed starters this season. From 2007-2011, they posted a 97-156 record.

The Orioles are 40-22 when they hit at least one home run, and 5-17 when they fail to go deep.

Jason Hammel, Chen and Chris Tillman are the scheduled starters for the Tigers series that begins Friday night at Camden Yards.

Tillman and Double-A Bowie’s Robbie Widlansky were chosen as the Orioles’ minor league Pitcher and Player of the Month for June.
