Second baseman Robert Andino, on the disabled list with a strained left shoulder, is scheduled to begin an injury-rehab assignment Tuesday at Double-A Bowie.
Andino is expected to play three games for the Baysox before being activated next Friday, when the Orioles begin a three-game series against the Rays in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The original plan called for Andino to fly down to Sarasota, but it’s no longer deemed necessary.

Manager Buck Showalter is hoping that catcher Matt Wieters’ sore right biceps is caused by cramping and nothing more serious.
Wieters feels the discomfort when extending on his swing from the left side of the plate. Showalter said Wieters could play tonight if he “had to push it.”
Anyone know the record for most times that a player has been designated for assignment in one year?
Dana Eveland received his third DFA earlier today. He’s expected to clear waivers again – he’ll find out at 1 p.m. Sunday – and start Tuesday night for Triple-A Norfolk.
The Orioles couldn’t recall Miguel Socolovich until today, after he had been in the minors for 10 days. Otherwise, they would have brought him up yesterday and kept Eveland at Norfolk.
Manager Buck Showalter also likes having a right-handed long reliever to back up a left-handed starter, which Socolovich can do tonight for Zach Britton. Eveland was the designated long man yesterday for right-hander Chris Tillman.
Tillman is still sick today. There’s a virus going around the clubhouse.
Nothing new to report on outfielder Steve Pearce, who was designated for assignment July 21 to create roster space for infielder Omar Quintanilla. The Orioles had been exploring trade possibilities before exposing him to waivers.
Norfolk infielder Bill Hall has been activated from the disabled list after recovering from a hamstring injury.
