Jeremiah Jackson reported to the Orioles this afternoon and is starting at second base in the rubber game of the series against the Guardians.

Jackson took ground balls at second earlier today. The Orioles put him on the taxi squad and then recalled him from Triple-A Norfolk, where he’s batted .209/.232/.403 in 16 games. They optioned him multiple times, most recently on Aug. 19 when catcher Samuel Basallo was reinstated from the injured list.

Blaze Alexander went on the IL today with lower-back discomfort.

The lineup is mostly right-handed, with a few exceptions, against Guardians southpaw Foster Griffin.

Dylan Beavers is leading off for the 10th time this season. Jackson Holliday is the shortstop. Those are the exceptions.

Gunnar Henderson is out of the lineup and day-to-day with left knee discomfort.

Coby Mayo is the designated hitter tonight. Rece Hinds is in center field and Leody Taveras is in right.

Basallo is on the bench, which gives Carlos Narváez another start behind the plate. Narváez is 5-for-60 with 20 strikeouts with the Orioles.

The Orioles are 7-11 in rubber games.
