The 25-year-old right-hander, who has only been part of the Orioles organization for just over two weeks, will start Wednesday afternoon’s game here against Toronto.

Stinson flew into Baltimore today after being told last night in Myrtle Beach, S.C., at 11 p.m. that he was headed back to Baltimore.

Stinson flew into Baltimore today after being told last night in Myrtle Beach, S.C., at 11 p.m. that he was headed back to Baltimore.

In recent days, Stinson has been claimed off waivers by the Orioles, spent time with Triple-A Norfolk, came to Camden Yards in case he was needed for Saturday’s doubleheader, joined Single-A Frederick in Potomac, pitched in a game there and bussed with the Keys to Myrtle Beach. If he’s a little tired right now, it’s quite understandable.

“My last three weeks has been, ‘Where’s Waldo?’ ” he said a few minutes ago. “Let’s see. It went, I was supposed to throw Thursday night in Durham and we got rained out, flew here on Saturday, then went to Potomac and threw two innings there, traveled with Frederick to Myrtle Beach and then flew here.”

Stinson was claimed on waivers by the Orioles from Oakland on April 4. In two starts with Triple-A Norfolk, he went 1-0 with an ERA of 0.77. Over 11 2/3 innings, he allowed 10 hits and four runs (one earned) with four walks and 10 strikeouts. He has a .244 batting average against with the Tides.

“I felt good,” he said of his two Triple-A starts. “Me and Chris Robinson were on the same page. Had a good sinker in those starts, threw a majority of sinkers and got ground balls. Felt like they went real well, especially since I was with a new team and getting to know a new catcher.”

A few days before he was taken off waivers by the Orioles, Stinson was claimed by Oakland from the Milwaukee organization. Yes, he’s been well traveled lately.

Now he has good opportunity tomorrow to show his new organization what he is all about.

“Every time you come to a new organization, you want to make it home,” he said. “Making that transfer adjustment is not easy, meeting 25 new guys each time. You hope this is home, Baltimore Orioles, it’s awesome.

“I’m very excited. Anytime you get claimed, obviously the team sees something in you. To be in the big leagues this fast, it’s a great opportunity for me and I want to take it and run with it.”

Stinson is 0-2 with a 4.43 ERA in the majors in 22 1/3 innings with the Mets in 2011 and the Milwaukee Brewers last year. He made a start last Oct. 3 for Milwaukee against San Diego and gave up one run and three hits over four innings.

He may be a little tired, but he’ll be on the mound for the Orioles here at 12:35 p.m. tomorrow.
