Brian Matusz made his first start at Yankee Stadium one to remember and Brian Roberts hit his 5th career Grand Slam as the Orioles beat the Yankees 7-3 Saturday afternoon.
The O’s have won the first two games in this series. A win Sunday would give the Orioles their first three-game sweep in New York since June of 1986.
Matusz gave up just four hits and one run over seven innings. He is now 5-2, 4.63. He threw 106 pitches, topping 100 for the first time as a Major Leaguer.

After New York took a 1-0 lead in the first, the O’s scored six of their runs in the second inning.
Nolan Reimold led off with a solo homer, ending the O’s homerless-drought at 42 2/3 innings. Robert Andino’s bloop RBI single made it 2-0 and Roberts’ Grand Slam made it 6-1.
It was Roberts’ 15th homer of the year and his second Slam of this season. He went 3 for 4 in the game and is 4 for 7 with 7 RBI in this series.
Jeff Fiorentino’s sac fly in the 9th made it a 7-1 game. New York scored twice in the last of the 9th off Jim Johnson.
This was the O’s first road series win of the year vs. an AL East opponent after they had lost eight and tied one.
