Jeremy Guthrie faced one batter in the fourth inning, retiring Ramiro Pena on a fly ball to center. He threw three pitches, leaving his total at 63 for the day. Forty-one were strikes.
Jason Berken has replaced Guthrie, who’s charged with four runs and eight hits in 3 1/3 innings. That’s the longest outing by an Orioles starter this spring.
Guthrie has allowed five runs and 12 hits in 7 2/3 innings over three starts.

Update: Jorge Posada lined a run-scoring single to right field off Berken, increasing New York’s lead to 5-3. Berken has allowed two singles and walked a batter this inning.
Update II: Berken got three ground balls in the fifth. A very impressive inning.
