Jose Bautista’s two-run homer off Darren O’Day broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth as Toronto beat the Orioles 4-2 for the Blue Jays’ 10th win in a row.

The team that was practically awarded the AL East after a busy offseason is finally playing good baseball, and the Orioles are seeing it firsthand.

Each time the Orioles scored today, Toronto came right back. Travis Ishikawa’s single tied the game…The Orioles gave up the winning run in the ninth inning last night and the eighth inning today.

Each time the Orioles scored today, Toronto came right back. Travis Ishikawa’s single tied the game 1-1 in the fifth, but a Maicer Izturis homer in the last of the inning put the Jays back ahead.

Taylor Teagarden’s solo homer in the eighth tied it 2-2, but that tie didn’t last too long.

O’Day had allowed just two homers in 33 1/3 innings before today’s appearance. For Bautista, it was his third homer in 12 career at-bats against the O’s right-hander.

The MASN cameras caught O’Day gesturing and saying something when he fanned Bautista Friday night. Bautista had some words back for O’Day as he ran toward home plate today.

On the positive side, Miguel Gonzalez did end the O’s four-game run without a quality start, going 7 1/3 innings, allowing just three hits and three runs. His ERA is 2.60 over his last four starts.

Last night, the O’s scored six runs and lost. Today they got just two and lost.

The Orioles had moved within one game of first-place Boston when they were idle and the Red Sox lost Thursday. But two frustrating losses in Toronto have followed and the O’s have lost a series for just the seventh time this year.

They’ll need a win Sunday to avoid a sweep and the Jays extending their winning streak to 11 in a row.
