The Orioles completed their first three-game home sweep of New York since April 15-17, 2005. It also is their fifth straight home win against New York – their most since a period from 1981 to June 1983 when they won 10 in a row.

The Orioles got the big enthusiastic crowd rocking early by hitting three solo homers in the first three innings off Hiroki Kuroda.

Manny Machado, who had three hits, hit No. 6 in the first. It was his first homer since May 5. He had gone 219 at-bats between home runs.

Chris Davis blasted his third in two games – No. 31 – out to left-center in the second on a 2-1 pitch. Davis breaks the tie he held with Brady Anderson (from 1996) for most homers by an Oriole before the All-Star break. Davis has hit nine homers his last 14 games, 11 in the last 18 and 20 in his past 42 contests.

Nate McLouth hit No. 6 in the third for a 3-1 lead as he took Kuroda out to right on an 0-1 pitch.

Brian Roberts returned to the O’s lineup tonight, batting ninth as the DH, for the first time since April 4. He went 1-for-2, and his single in the fifth was his first hit at Camden Yards since July 29, 2012. His sac fly in the seventh made it a 4-2 lead, giving the Orioles a key insurance run.

Tillman went six innings, allowing five hits and two runs and throwing 98 pitches to improve to 10-2 with an ERA of 3.68. Over his last six starts, he is 6-0 with an ERA of 2.68, and he has recorded 11 quality starts over his last 14 games.

With the win, the Orioles’ fourth in a row, they improve to 47-36. The Orioles are 15-8 in their last 23 regular-season games and 6-3 this year vs. the Yankees.

The last two nights presented quite a showcase for Baltimore baseball on national television with the return to winning on the field and the return of the fans in the stands.
