“I like the combination of me and Chris,” Jones said. “If it’s four and five (in the order), we’ve done the same damage. Me and him following each other, we both make each other better. We both drive the ball, we are both athletic to score on doubles. We both drive the ball, we are both athletic to score on doubles. Whatever has been working with me and him, it’s a pretty good tandem.

“You get (Nick) Markakis hot. He hasn’t been hot yet. He’s still getting his, but he hasn’t been hot. I foresee him having a big September and we have a good 3-4-5 guys swinging the bat giving ourselves the best opportunity to get into postseason.”

Jones talked about the Orioles’ offense breaking out, producing 15 runs the last two days after they scored just 16 total during a four-game losing streak.

“Man, we can hit,” he said. “The pitchers on the other team get paid a handsome amount of money to get us out. We are kind of a streaky offense, but we can hit.”

Jones today became the second Orioles outfielder to have three or more 25-homer seasons, joining Frank Robinson, who did that five times.

“Anything with Frank Robinson is awesome. I’ve got a game to win right now. All those accolades, you can tell me all that when I’m done playing the game,” he said.

Davis talked about hitting in front of Jones and the O’s offense the last two days.

“There are times when it’s been just Adam. It was good to see everyone swinging well today,” Davis said. “Thought we didn’t try to do too much, just took what they gave us.”

Davis leads the majors with 45 homers, is second in the AL with 35 doubles and he leads the majors with 80 extra-base hits.

Davis had praise for starter Scott Feldman, who allowed two runs over 6 2/3 innings to get the win.

“Huge. That is what we want him for, to go deep in the game. I thought he looked really good today and gave us the chance to win,” Davis said.

Feldman talked about starting his outing today with six straight shutout innings.

“I think just mixing in all my pitches. Going over the lineup, we knew they would be aggressive and just tried to keep a good mix out there,” he said.

He had an ERA of 7.66 in four home starts before today, although he wasn’t really focusing on that.

“I don’t really look at my numbers until the end of the season,” Feldman said. “You can get a couple of games were you go in a slump and it can skew the numbers. Don’t want to lose my confidence if I have a bad game or something.”

Feldman said he enjoyed watching the O’s offense put together some numbers the last two days.

“I’ve been a fan of Chris ever since I met him,” Feldman said. “Even when I wasn’t here, I was glad he was doing so well. These guys are fun to watch. B-Rob came up with a huge hit today and Manny (Machado) made some big plays at third.”

Now, after winning the last two days, the O’s set their sights on the team right ahead of them in the standings. Tampa Bay will be here for three games beginning Monday.

“A series win is a series win,” Jones said. “We’ve got to keep moving forward. We have a huge series coming up against Tampa. Got the series win, now let’s focus on (David) Price tomorrow.”
