BOSTON – The Orioles are returning to Fenway Park, where they’ve won five consecutive series.
Left-hander Brian Matusz has only worked 4 1/3 innings this month over eight appearances, but he figures to be busy in Boston.
For example, David Ortiz is 1-for-17 with 10 strikeouts lifetime against Matusz, and they’re likely to meet again in another late-inning matchup.

Matusz may become more important to the Orioles down the stretch with left-handers batting .325 against Darren O’Day this season, compared to .157 by right-handers.
Wei-Yin Chen is 2-1 with a 2.96 ERA in four career starts against the Red Sox. He’s 1-1 with a 3.44 ERA in three starts at Fenway Park.
Pedroia is 4-for-10 with a double and triple against Chen.
Adam Jones (2-for-14, six strikeouts), Matt Wieters (1-for-13, eight strikeouts) and J.J. Hardy (0-for-11, three strikeouts) are a combined 3-for-38 with 17 strikeouts against Boston left-hander Felix Doubront.
Chris Davis (6-for-12, double and home run), Manny Machado (4-for-8, home run) and Nick Markakis (4-for-7) are a combined 14-for-27 against Doubront.
