Morse is expected to join the Orioles in New York.
Morse, a free agent after the season, is batting .226/.283/.410 with 13 doubles, 13 homers and 27 RBIs in 76 games. He missed five weeks with a quad injury
Since coming off the disabled list, Morse has posted a 158/.200/.289 line in 80 plate appearances.
The deal was consummated before the 1:30 p.m. deadline.
More to come.
Update: The Orioles have sent outfielder Xavier Avery to the Mariners in exchange for Morse.
Avery was batting .237/.312/.312 with 12 doubles, two triples, two homers and 23 RBIs at Triple-A Norfolk. He comes off the 40-man roster, creating room for Morse.
Avery batted .223/.305/.340 in 32 games with the Orioles last season, with six doubles, one triple, one homer, six RBIs and six steals. He began the 2013 season at Double-A Bowie because of an excess of outfielders at Norfolk.
