LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Superagent Scott Boras drew the usual crowd of reporters at the Winter Meetings.
Today was his day to talk following an appearance on MLB Network Radio. It looked like field seats at a Springsteen concert.

Today was his day to talk following an appearance on MLB Network Radio. It looked like field seats at a Springsteen concert.
I didn’t have the most ideal vantage point, but I slowly crept forward as reporters and cameramen gave up and left the scene.
Boras spent most of the session fielding questions about free agent outfielder Shin-Soo Choo. However, he eventually focused on catcher Matt Wieters and first baseman Chris Davis, who have two years remaining on their contracts.
Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette told reporters this week that he wouldn’t discuss contract extensions during the Winter Meetings, saying it wasn’t the proper time.
Does Boras expect to engage in talks?
“I’m sure that topic of conversation will be with Peter (Angelos) and I some day, but certainly welcome to entertain it and look at it and talk about it,” he replied.
Asked to characterize his relationship with the Orioles, Boras said, “Dan and I talk frequently, two or three times a month. We had a meeting in September, so we have a good working relationship. Had one when he was in Boston.
“He’s got great hair, too.”
