The Orioles begin a stretch of five consecutive day games this afternoon, their longest stretch of the season. According to Elias, it’s the longest since they played five in a row from April 9-14, 1994.
I hope they got more sleep before that first game.
Chris Davis ranked second in the majors last season with 25 road home runs. Manny Machado was tied for second with 26 road doubles.
Adam Jones led current Orioles in road batting average at .279 (95-for-341).

Darren O’Day led the Orioles in road ERA at 1.60 ERA over 33 2/3 innings.
In his last eight games against the Tigers dating back to Aug. 18, 2012, Davis is batting .394 (13-for-33) with two doubles, six homers, 12 RBIs and eight runs scored.
Nelson Cruz has homered in two of the Orioles’ first three games, and he’s 1-for-4 with a home run lifetime against Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez.
A fun fact from Orioles PR: In 30 career games against the Orioles, new Tigers manager Brad Ausmus
hit .313 (31-for-99), his highest mark against any opponent except the Athletics (.338 in 23 games).
I’m not with the team and I’m going through separation anxiety, since we’ve been together since the start of spring training – with the exception of the Norfolk exhibition. I’m sure that I’ll get over it.
I’ll meet up with the Orioles next week in New York.
