Plate umpire Kerwin Danley ruled that Carl Crawford didn’t check his swing with the count full, though replays contradicted that call, and Matt Wieters threw out Brignac at second on the most delayed steal in baseball history.

Brignac assumed Crawford had walked and was in no rush to reach second base. Crawford was already on first and tugging on his batting gloves. Wieters held the ball for a few seconds, realized that Crawford was out and made the throw, startling Ohman in the process.

It was a very strange sequence, and one that riled up this crowd. The booing still hasn’t stopped, and Ohman is warming up in the bottom of the eighth. You would think they missed out on a free pizza.
