Jones is six games away from tying his career-longest streak set in May 2012.

During his current streak, Jones is batting .357 with five home runs, 11 RBIs and eight runs scored.

Jones is 5-for-16 with three home runs lifetime against Pirates left-hander Francisco Liriano.

Miguel Gonzalez threw 19 pitches in the first inning, including 16 for strikes, while stranding runners on the corners. Neil Walker and Andrew McCutchen singled with one out.

McCutchen is batting .483 against the Orioles. Good thing he’s in the other league.

Gonzalez retired the Pirates in order in the second on two ground balls and a liner to shortstop J.J. Hardy. He’s thrown 26 strikes among his 31 pitches.

Gonzalez has fielded two comebackers in two innings.

Update: The Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the third on three straight singles with one out, raising Gonzalez’s pitch count to 60, but the Orioles scored twice in the fourth.

Chris Davis reached on an infield hit with one out, Nelson Cruz walked and Hardy blooped a single into center field for his first RBI since May 6 and his 10th of the season.

Down on the farm, Kevin Gausman has allowed two hits, walked one and struck out three in four scoreless innings for Triple-A Norfolk in his first start since being optioned. He’s thrown 57 pitches, 35 for strikes.
