Showalter said third baseman Manny Machado could be available off the bench. Machado is out of the lineup for the second consecutive game due to a strained right groin.

Reliever Tommy Hunter will remain in Baltimore while the Orioles hit the road next week for series against the Brewers, Astros and Rangers. The plan is for Hunter to throw while away from the team as he recovers from a strained left groin.

David Lough’s not in the lineup today, but Showalter suggested that it’s mostly due to Delmon Young’s career numbers against Indians right-hander Corey Kluber. Young is 4-for-9 with a double.

Showalter also explained that he wanted to space out his left-handed hitters for matchups later in the game with the Indians’ relievers.
